What Donruss Optic actually is

Donruss is Panini’s long-running paper base product. Optic takes the same design and prints it on chromium stock — the same technology family behind Prizm. That single change is what makes Optic collectible:

  • The chrome finish produces the Holo parallel and a deep ladder of colored parallels.
  • The Rated Rookie subset is Donruss’s decades-old rookie branding, so an SGA Optic Rated Rookie is instantly recognizable as a first-year card.
